Sausage Rolls

Popularly known on the streets of Lagos, and all over Nigeria as Gala.  Well, Gala is actually the most popular commercial brand of sausage rolls sold in Nigeria. When one is stuck in traffic, particularly in Lagos, it is common to see street hawkers selling Gala to vehicles within the traffic.  As a child, every time my mom went out, my siblings and I often had one request and it was, “Mom, please buy Gala or bring Gala home”.  The Nigerian Sausage roll is dough wrapped around seasoned sausage meat and baked until golden.  Any sausage meat such as beef, pork, turkey, etc is allowed.  Nigerian sausage rolls are also commonly sold at fast food restaurants.
